How to use FTP codes?

This is an example of an email that you may receive from OVH:

From: support.ovh.co.uk
To: #TO#
Cc: #CC#
YOUR FTP CODES

These codes allow you to copy the content of your website to the server.
(Attention: Your data must be placed in www directory)

ftp server : ftp.yourdomain.tld or ftp.yourplan.ovh.net (e.g.ftp.xxlplan.ovh.net)
Login or user : LOGIN
password : PASSWORD


Description
Filezilla is a powerful FTP-client for Windows NT4, 2000 and XP. It has been designed for ease of use and with support for as many features as possible, while still being fast and reliable.

Note: There are many different ftp clients available, e.g. Putty, Kasablanka, FTP Commander.
In the examples, however we'll be using Filezilla.

Procedure
  • Open your ftp client.

  • Insert codes you've received.

ftp server : ftp.yourdomain.tld or ftp.yourplan.ovh.net (in the example ftp.xxlplan.ovh.net)
Login or user : LOGIN
password : PASSWORD




  • Click on the connection button.

  • Windows will appear:
Local Site: Choose your site or other file from your hard disk.
Remote Site: /www (the hosted directory where you copy your files to).

  • Move your files to www directory.

Problems
I received the following message:



You need to verify the parameters:
- Address: Your hosting (20gp.ovh.net; 60gp.ovh.net; 240gp.ovh.net, etc.).
- User: (respecting small and capital letters),
- Password: (respecting small and capital letters),
- Port: always use 21 port.

If the problem persists, modify your password in the manager.
